Elaine is a specialist Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury practitioner. She attained her law degree at the University of North London and completed her Law Society Finals at the College of Law in London, Lancaster Gate. She qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and is the head of the Clinical Negligence Department at Balinda & Co. She has spent several years working in private practice including working for an Advice Centre in South West London where she was able to represent clients on matters relating to Human Rights. She joined Balinda & Co. in January 2008.
Elaine’s Clinical Negligence experience is varied and encompasses, fatal accident act claims, GP and dental negligence claims. She has successfully settled claims relating to obstetric/gynaecology and urological matters and psychotic injury caused by incorrect prescription of medication. Elaine recently settled a case where a female claimant died following the misplacement of a cannula. She successfully obtained compensation for the claimant's family. Elaine successfully pursues complex and difficult claims and has settled a large number of claims that on face value seemed “unwinnable”.
Elaine’s Personal Injury experience includes everything from straightforward slips and trip accidents and road traffic accidents to work related upper limb disorders and industrial disease.
Outside the law Elaine is keen on photography, art and fashion designing. She also enjoys arranging social events to raise money for charity, travelling and reading.
