How much is compensation for death caused by mesothelioma?
Tuesday October 26, 2010 at 10:44pm
My husband worked at a shipyard in Tyneside. He was regularly exposed to asbestos in a large amount. He subsequently died due to malignant mesothelioma which was due to exposure to asbestos at his workplace.
About eight months before my husband’s death, he had been healthy. Within this period however, my husband became breathless and lost appetite. I took him to see our GP who decided to carry out some tests and referred him to the hospital afterwards.
My husband stayed in the hospital for over three weeks while more tests were being carried out. When he returned home, my husband went straight to bed. For the short time he stayed with me after the hospital, I did everything and took care of him.
Compensation for the pain my husband suffered before his death
The other side has written to my solicitors offering to settle the claim for my husband’s pain at £39,000. Do you consider this amount a fair offer after what my husband went through?
