The following are support organisations for people who have suffered injury as a result of negligence.

1. The Birth Trauma Association (BTA) - This organisation supports all women who have had a traumatic birth experience. It is estimated that, in the UK alone, post traumatic stress disorder may result in about 10,000 women a year.


2. Phab (physical handicapped-able bodied) - Phab’s aim is to promote and encourage people of all abilities to come together on equal terms, to achieve complete inclusion within the wider community.


3. Erb’s Palsy Group - Erb's Palsy also known as Brachial Plexus Paralysis is a condition which mainly due to birth trauma, can affect 1 or all of the 5 primary nerves that supply the movement and feeling to an arm.

The Erb's Palsy Group provides conferences aimed at health care professionals and to guide them on Best Practice procedures including professionals such as physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and Paediatricians who are involved in the delivery of babies and treatment of children affected by Brachial Plexus Injuries.


4. Contact a Family - Contact a Family provides support, advice and information for families with disabled children, no matter what their condition or disability.


5. Baby Lifeline – Baby Lifeline is a charity offering loving care and support to pregnant mothers and new born babies all over the UK.


6. Scope - Scope works with disabled people on the issues that are most important to them and aim to raise awareness, change attitudes and influence government policy.


7. Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) - Sands is a charity which offers support to families who have lost babies during pregnancy or after birth.


8. The patients Association - This is an independent charity that highlights the concerns and needs of patients. It works with Government and a broad range of individuals and organisations to develop better, and more responsive, health services.


9. Action against Medical Accidents (AVMA) - AVMA is the independent charity which promotes better patient safety and justice for people who have been affected by a medical accident.
